In Memory of Prof.Claudine Hermann

It is with deep sadness that we announce of the passing of Claudine Hermann on July 17, 2021.
Claudine Hermann was the first woman appointed professor at the Ecole Polytechnique in 1992.
Prof. Claudine Hermann has put a lot of effort into promoting gender equality in science in EU countries. She has been the long-standing President of the European Researchers’ Platform (EPWS), of which the BASNET Forumas is a member. She made a significant contribution to the political education of Lithuanian women scientists on gender equality issues, participated in events organized by BASNET Forumas Association and promoted international cooperation among the associations of women scientists in the field.
We will remember Claudine Hermann as a woman of exceptional prominence and a faithful friend.
