28 of November, 2014 BASNET Forumas hosted a conference-debate “The Attractiveness of Science: Gender Aspect”. The aim of the event was to present to the scientific society the contemporary trends of science policy and to discuss the factors influencing the attractiveness of science for the young people. The gender aspect in research was included as one of RR&I policy priority. Among speakers there were: Ms. A. Grybauskienė, representative of Ministry of Education and Science, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dalia Šatkovskienė BASNET Forum President, Dr. Živilė Ruželė , Center for Physical Sciences and Technology , Dr. V. Pyragaitė, VU Faculty of Physics, Assoc. Prof . Dr. B. Narkevičienė, Dean of KTU Physics Faculty, Prof. Hab. Dr. A. Bandzaitis, Dr. A. Novelskaitė, VU Kaunas Humanitarian Faculty, Dr. Ž. Rutkūnienė , Vice dean of KTU Physics Faculty and Habil. Dr. G. Tautvaišienė, Director of VU ITPA. The debates were fruitful and leading to the new BASNET Forumas activities concerned with attraction of young girls and boys to the STEM disciplines.
